I found these awesome books in the Dollar Section at Target. They go really well with what we have been learning this year. I also found the Brilliant Reader, which is a journal kids can keep on the books they read. They can check nonfiction/fiction, write about favorite parts, or draw a picture from the story. That would be great for summer reading!!!!!
This jewelry has been banned from my classroom. We have had repeated situations of arguing over jewelry, trading, hurt fellings, jewelry in mouth, etc. All of these situations have become a distraction in the classroom. I spoke to the students yesterday after the third interruption of a lesson due to the jewelry. Please support me in keeping focus on learning at school. Thank you so much. Our class had a guest reader this morning!! It was Big Mike from the Carolina Hurricanes Storm Squad. He was alot of fun and the kids really enjoyed his reading, balloon making, and games!!!!
We had an amazing seminar on, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein this morning. The kids did a wonderful job discussing their opinions of the text. Ask them about their experience. The entire school did this seminar from 9:30 - 10:30. It was a great success!!!
