We need cereal boxes for a special February project!!! Thanks
Here are some pictures of students dividing up their beads in fair shares. These beads were earned for teamwork, individual behavior, and collaboration during our Earth Materials unit. They really worked together and many shared extra beads they had with other teams!! Stay tuned for 3rd Quarter behavior incentive. We are doing coached project on Thursday mornings. The kids in my class will be in different first grade classrooms. The first graders who want to further explore soil and make compost will be in my room. If you enjoy cutting up vegetable scraps and playing with worms, come on in. Please!!!!
We started learning to tell time this week. Some students already know alot about telling time and for some it is a new experience. Please make connections at home with the kids about the importance of clocks in your life. I want to share and sort some different types of time pieces on Tuesday during math. Some examples might be : stopwatches, timers, hour glasses, watches, watches with no numbers, analog clocks, or digital clocks. We made a clock with a hula hoop and discussed where the numbers go and the clock hands. Here is a picture of it!! |
